Working with layers is what fascinates me most when creating…

For me, art creates itself – I merely guide it and the processes. The colours and mediums go and run their own ways, but I give them direction. It's out of my hands and in my hands at one and the same time. And somewhere in the process, which is constantly a balance between randomness and control, the painting develops character. It's a small, inexplicable miracle every time.

It is with my works as it is with us humans. They consist of countless layers. Some layers are transparent and easy to see through. Others are more solid and opaque. The different layers create a person's personality as well as a painting's character.

My art is like you and me – with many layers and always in process. I am inspired by what is. Right there in the moment. Some call me brave. Bold. Open-minded. and colourful. My art is just like that…
