Original work on paper from my series "Ultramarine", painted with ultramarine blue acrylic paint on handmade Indian cotton paper with texture.
Professionally framed in solid smoked oak and ART glass with minimal reflection - in fact, you might wonder if there's even glass on it.
The artwork almost floats inside behind the glass, touching neither the backing nor the glass. This is because a spacer strip has been inserted internally (see image) and a foam board behind the artwork. This creates an elegant and very ethereal expression, complemented by the "deckled" edges of the paper.
The artwork is painted with meticulous hand, and although it has a more stringent and graphic expression than my abstract works, you will still notice the imperfections and the hand-painted quality when you get up close. For me, it is the unevenness and the imperfect that make my works special. That nothing is neat, symmetrical. Or boring. But rather quirky and full of character.
The artwork itself is A4 size, but framed it measures 38.5 x 30 cm.
